Chocolate Particle Size Analyzer

Based on the highly successful Mastersizer Micro, the Chocolate Particle Size Analyzer (CPSA) has been developed in close co-operation with a number of multinational chocolate companies to provide a universal and consistent means of measuring chocolate products from one laboratory to another and from one country to another.

With an exceptionally small footprint, the CPSA can be set up anywhere. A special macro provided in powerful Malvern Basic within the Sizer Software prompts the operator at every stage of the measurement so that even a first-time user can make a correct measurement.


  Single Measurement range.
Measures materials from 0.3 µm to 300 µm.
 
  Dispersion Type.
Wet, Capacity 600 to 1000 ml
 
  Dispersion Mechanism.
An ultrasonic preparation station for successful dispersion of solid chocolate sampled straight from the bar or slab. Stand-alone Small Volume sample circulation unit to minimize solvent consumption. Plumbed-in solvent dispensers streamline the measurement process and assure absolute repeatability of measurements A special high-concentration flow cell allows measurement of optimum sample quantities.
 
  Dispersion control Operation.
Ultrasonics controlled via splash-resistant touch pad on unit. Small volume sample dispersion unit controlled via stand-alone tacho control unit.
 
  User friendly Software.
Configurable for one-button operation. Standard operating routines can be set up to reduce operator error.
 
  Accuracy and Reproducibility.
Accuracy: ± 3% on the Dv50 using Malvern Quality Audit Standards Instrument-to-instrument reproducibility: Better than 3% RSD on the Dv50 of the Malvern Quality Audit Standard.
