Domain Statistics Calculation

Domain size in a solid dosage blend may impact bioavailability, dissolution, or other product performance attributes. Using NIR Chemical Imaging, it is possible to calculate the number of domains for each component, mean domain sizes and nearest neighbor distributions. The results can then be correlated with product performance.

Chemical imaging is non-destructive, thus permitting the same sample to be tested using other methods, or using multiple magnifications on the NIR-CI system. It is also fast, allowing rapid screening of multiple samples to improve sampling statistics.

Spectral Dimensions NIR Chemical Imaging systems and the ISys software make it possible to perform detailed comparisons of products from different manufacturing processes.
