Interface
The ISys interface displays spectral and spatial information simultaneously. This is critical because contrast in images is changed by processing, and the ISys interface makes it easy to visualize these effects. Also, optimizing contrast between chemical components in chemical images is often the main analytical goal during method development, and the more tightly integrated the spectral and spatial information, the easier it is to determine the best data processing methods for each application. Multiple spectra and images from the same or different data sets can be viewed simultaneously for comparison. This information is easily managed using comprehensive graphical tools.
For generating reports, ISys has many features to achieve a desired look. The display properties of spectra are individually controlled – color and line format can be changed, text labels applied, and wavelengths automatically marked, enabling the creation of highly customized graphics for presentations. Image contrast and color palette are also user adjustable so that images highlight only the desired information and may be saved in a variety of printable, display or publishable formats.
Automation
Many processing tools available in ISys allow multiple data sets to be selected and processed as a batch. Although this is a first step towards automation, ISys has far more powerful tools as well.
The Macro feature automates the most commonly used data processing functions to routinely and reproducibly execute extensive multi-step processing methods for any number of data sets. Batch processing saves time and guarantees that each data set is identically processed, cross-platform and across users. The Macro capability in ISys also provides an easy and automated way to develop and optimize new methods - a series of data processing schemes can be tested on multiple data sets, to verify that the method is optimized for a variety of sample types.
Data processing methods developed in ISys can be saved as Macro Projects for routine application, and for deployment to other systems and users. An ISys Project is created using an intuitive interface, first by selecting a series of data sets to be processed, and then by defining the desired data processing steps with their parameters configured using the standard ISys graphical interface tools.
Optimized Mathematical Engine
Built on the Matlab® (Matlab is a registered trademark of The Mathworks, Inc.) engine, ISys rests on a foundation of highly optimized, industry standard numerical and visualization libraries. ISys was built from the ground up using tools designed specifically to work with the large data matrices that characterize chemical imaging and mapping data. Because advanced univariate and multivariate analyses demand high numerical precision, the libraries utilized by ISys guarantee numerical results you can trust.
Validatable
ISys has been created under a development lifecycle that follows criteria established by GAMP Guidelines. It is fully enabled to achieve technical compliance to 21 CFR part 11 for Malvern/Spectral Dimensions SPF files. This feature can be activated through the purchase of a separate module.
