Summary
Insitec provides robust, reliable on-line particle sizing for particles suspended in liquid stream. Insitec L features triclamping and the use of 316L stainless steel in the manufacture of all metal parts, making it ideally suited for use in GAMP4 processes and where CIP/SIP is a requirement.
Uses include real-time process optimization and quality control of processes including mills and dynamic classifiers. |

Process Interface
|
Robust, repeatable and representative sampling is the key to good measurement, making the process interface a critical part of the Insitec.
Each process interface is easily automated to minimize operator intervention.
Several measurement options are available:
- directly in-line
- for fine particulates (0.1-100µm), on-line using a multi-stage eductor;
- for coarser particles (10-1000µm), on-line using multi-stage stirred tank dilution (meteor)
- at-line measurements
Continuous sampling:
- Continuous on-line particle sizing in bulk liquid streams
- Eductor interface contains no moving parts, delivers the suspension correctly dispersed continuously to the instrument, and is easily automated to minimize operator intervention
- Range of available flowcell path lengths
- 10 bar max operating pressure capability

Automation Interface
|
- Full automation and integration into plant control systems (Voyager Plus contains automation as standard)
- RTSizer software interfaces with plant control systems through Malvern Link automation package
- Award-winning Intellution iFix SCADA license delivered with every process system. This gives enormous flexibility in controlling instrument, sampling system and linking to the plant control system

| Laser diffraction - Established sensor technology |
The proven laser diffraction technology at the heart of the Insitec system is now the standard in most particulate processing industries and has been pioneered and developed by Malvern for more than 20 years. Its robustness has allowed implementation in the Insitec sensor in such a way that it copes easily with the rigors and demands of an industrial process environment. The sensor's changeable lenses allow the tuning of the instrument resolution to the needs of the process. The instrument is watertight and dustproof, and certified to industrial protection rating IP65. It is CE badged and meets industrial grade electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements for safe, reliable operation.

| A rugged industrial solution |
Malvern Insitec systems are designed from the outset for industrial use. Their rugged construction and robust technology reflect the exacting demands placed on analytical instrumentation that is in continuous use in a process environment. Capable of taking scattering patterns every second and delivering the particle size distribution in real-time, an Insitec can make more than a million measurements every year. The instrument, the process interface, analysis software, automation and data reporting can all be customized to the unique needs of individual clients.
