Malvern's Insitec S provides users with real-time, high-speed particle size characteriztion measurement of high concentration liquid droplets such as sprays and aerosols.

	Broad measuring range Measures droplets from 0.1µm to 1000µm.
	High Speed Data Acquisition. Real time spray measurement at up to 4 measurements per second, reveals fine temporal fluctuations in spray patterns.
	High concentration measurement capability. Patented "multiple scattering" analysis routine allows measurements of sprays with light obscurations up to 95% (5% transmission).
	User-friendly Software. Time history display allows "frame by frame" inspection of a spray event. Flexible data filtering options. Compliance with 21 CFR Part 11.
	Instrument Configuration Flexibility. Customizable specification enables aerosol and spray researchers to configure an instrument to meet their precise needs.

Measurement principle:		Mie scattering (Laser diffraction).

Light Source:		Laser Diode 670 nm wavelength

Measurement Rate:		1 to 4 Hz.

Concentration Range:		Sprays with obscurations from 2% to 95%.

Accuracy:		3% (using RS-3 reference standard reticle).

Precision:		0.5% (using RS-3 reference standard reticle).

Air Purge:		Optics can be purged with clean air to protect them from contamination during measurement. A minimum supply of 2ft³ min. is required - this air must be completely oil and water free.

Sealing Standards:		Basic, IP65(Protected against dust / water jets. European standard).

Minimum Specification of PC:		Pentium II 300 MHz processor, 32 Mb RAM, 3Gbyte hard disc and CD–ROM. Screen resolution VGA 800x600 (SVGA 1024x768 is recommended) Requires 1 free serial port.

Data Analysis:		Model-independent analysis gives droplet size distribution Patented Multiple Scattering Algorithm for operation at high concentrations (US Patent No. 5,619,324). Statistical analysis for QA/QC.

Data Export:		Direct to Excel or similar spreadsheet.
