Investigating coating heterogeneity with Near Infared Chemical Imaging
This presentation will show how near infrared chemical imaging can rapidly measure coating uniformity in finished products, providing quantitative, statistical data on these parameters in a non-destructive method. Coatings are utilized to perform a variety of functions, from providing moisture barriers to controlling the release rates of pharmaceuticals. The ability to characterize coating parameters such as thickness, integrity and heterogeneity is important formulation development, QA/QC and in troubleshooting manufacturing.
