Pharmaceutical Quality by Design: Understanding the Process from Components Particle Size and Shape to Finished Products.

Quality by design can only be achieved by using an integrated approach to evaluate ingredients, formulation processes and finished products. Malvern's particle sizing instrumentation is already an established tool for the characterization of ingredients going into formulation, but more recently, a suite of tools has also been introduced to complement the particle size data in order to better understand processes. In this seminar, we describe the use of particle shape information obtained with optical imaging techniques and its impact on intermediate and finished products that we investigate using near infrared chemical imaging.
