Malvern speaker in line-up with industry specialists at Nasal Drug Delivery conference

Dr Paul Kippax, product manager for diffraction systems at Malvern Instruments, will make a presentation on ‘Understanding the robustness of operation of nasal pump spray devices’ at the ‘Nasal Drug Delivery’ annual international conference on 14-15 April 2010 at Le Meridien Hotel, Piccadilly, London. He will discuss the importance of optimising the formulation and device together when developing nasal pump systems, in order to achieve effective and reproducible delivery. Malvern is committed to understanding and serving the needs of the nasal spray industry and this presentation, which focuses on the use of laser diffraction particle sizing techniques for characterising the spray produced by nasal pump systems, exemplifies the company’s work in this area.

In his presentation, Paul Kippax will use research carried out using Malvern’s Spraytec system to show how the time-resolved droplet size data obtained using light scattering techniques can aid understanding of the impact of formulation properties, such as viscosity and device characteristics, on spray atomisation.
