Untitled Document Here we'll be talking about the important links between particle size, shape, and dissolution rate with particular reference to the pharmaceutical industry. The importance of dissolution in relation to bioavailability and regulatory norms will be highlighted. The Noyes-Whitney equation and paddle dissolution testing equipment will be discussed as well as routes to get poorly soluble material into effective forms for dissolution. We'll briefly look at the effect that shape (different crystal faces, morphology) has on dissolution especially in relation to polymorphs of drug forms.
