RHEOLOGY FOCUS -Topics in Liquid Crystal Rheology
Day:Wednesday
Date:8 September 2010
Begin:10:30 am
End:11:30 am
Language:English
Time Zone:EDT
Audience:Worldwide
Extended chain polymers are of great interest because of their mechanical properties. Some behave as rigid rods in solution and form nematic liquid crystal solutions, such as Kevlar® fiber. Others are flexible enough to melt, forming nematic melts, such as Vectra® engineering thermoplastics. This talk explores interesting rheological and rheo-optical phenomena involving liquid crystalline solutions and melts of rigid polymers. The topics covered will be: Negative Normal Stress Effect in Lyotropic Solutions of Helical Polypeptides, Transverse Band Structures in Lyotropics and Thermotropics, Negative Temperature Dependence of Viscosity in Semi-flexible Thermotropics, Self-stabilized Viscosity in LCP blends

Laserbeugung Masterclass 4: Wie setzt man eine realistische Spezifikation
Day:Friday
Date:17 September 2010
Begin:11:00 am
End:12:00 pm
Language:German
Time Zone:CET
Audience:Germany

Day:Friday
Date:24 September 2010
Begin:11:00 am
End:12:00 pm
Language:German
Time Zone:CET
Audience:Germany

On-line slurry particle size analysis in mineral processing applications
Day:Tuesday
Date:28 September 2010
Begin:10:30 am
End:11:30 am
Language:English
Time Zone:EDT
Audience:Worldwide
Laser scatter sizing technology has opened up new applications for on-line particle size analysis of mineral slurries. The control of grinding circuits based on product particle size is essential for downstream process performance. In some cases the particle size distribution of the final concentrate is an important quality issue. Use of energy in grinding also needs more attention. This webinar discusses on-line particle size analysis technologies and presents experiences on the use of laser diffraction in minerals processing operations.

Maximizing the benefits of the Zetasizer for characterization of your protein samples
Day:Thursday
Date:4 November 2010
Begin:10:30 am
End:11:30 am
