This will primarily cover the remote sensing market but has scope to support other markets such as Food, Pharma and Chemicals. The main aspects of the role are to support pre-sales activities (customer visits, demonstrations and presentations), and act as the main source of technical expertise in the region for our channel partners to ensure successful customer outcomes.

In response to the increasing opportunity for our Near Infrared ASD products in Europe, Malvern Panalytical is strengthening support for its European Channel partners.

We are looking to recruit a Field Applications Specialist for the EMEA (Europe Middle East Africa) region. The successful candidate will an energetic, technically competent, entrepreneurial professional who will support sales by providing technical support to ASD representatives, distributors and customers. This will primarily cover the remote sensing market but has scope to support other markets such as Food, Pharma and Chemicals. The main aspects of the role are to support pre-sales activities (customer visits, demonstrations and presentations), and act as the main source of technical expertise in the region for our channel partners to ensure successful customer outcomes.

As a minimum, the candidate will hold aPh.D. in Engineering, Chemistry, Biology; or ideally 5-7 years’ equivalent industry experience.

The successful candidate will have:

· Extensive experience in some or all of the following spectroscopy, spectroradiometry, remote sensing, Near InfraRed, remote sensing and chemometrics. Experience with light scattering technology also of interest
· The ability to effectively present technical information
· Strong communication skills – written, oral and presentation, including the ability to break down complex information and explain in a simple way and to instill confidence in the receiver of the information
· Good listening skills including the ability to translate what the customer asks for into what they need; to communicate this to the customer or distributor/sales person
· The ability to creatively approach territory management and sales engagement
· The ability to work well both within a team and independently; primarily working alongside the distributor and providing support but also able to represent the business externally to all parties. Must present a professional image of the company at all times
· The ability to travel up to 50% of the time, throughout EMEA

The position is based in Malvern, Worcestershire. However, frequent travel within the UK and overseas will be required.
